The Future

In the spring of 2010, Treeswing conducted focus groups to engage school and community leaders in a discussion about healthy and active living/obesity prevention efforts in King County, identify gaps in service, and to identify opportunities for Treeswing. Based on the findings, we are planning several projects for the coming years.

  • The Healthy Schools Program: Wrap around coordination and support of a individual schools to 1)develop healthy habits in elementary aged children and 2) create healthy school cultures where the healthy choice is the easy choice.
  • The Great Outdoors Initiative will bring together community based organizations and schools to create a coordinated outdoor education for students in Seattle Public Schools.
